Probiotic Soda Mocktail Citrus (Printable)

# Components:

→ Probiotic Base

01 - 4 cups filtered water
02 - 1/4 cup organic cane sugar
03 - 2 tablespoons water kefir grains or ginger bug
04 - 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice

→ Flavoring

05 - 1/2 cup fresh orange juice
06 - 1/2 cup fresh lime juice
07 - 8 fresh mint leaves
08 - 4 thin orange slices
09 - Ice cubes, for serving

# Method:

01 - In a clean glass jar, dissolve organic cane sugar in filtered water. Add water kefir grains or ginger bug and fresh lemon juice. Stir gently using a non-metallic spoon.
02 - Cover jar with a breathable cloth or coffee filter and secure with a rubber band. Allow the mixture to ferment at room temperature (68–77°F) for 24 to 48 hours until lightly fizzy and tangy.
03 - Remove and strain out the kefir grains or ginger bug. Discard or reserve for future use.
04 - Combine the fermented soda with fresh orange juice, lime juice, and mint leaves in a pitcher. Stir gently to blend flavors.
05 - Fill glasses with ice cubes, pour mocktail over, and garnish each with a slice of orange and additional mint leaves if preferred.
06 - Serve promptly for optimal effervescence.
