# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It comes together in minutes with no cooking required, making it ideal for busy days or last-minute meals.
  • The combination of sweet apples, tangy cheese, and crunchy walnuts creates a satisfying mix of textures and flavors in every bite.
  • The homemade cider vinaigrette is so much better than store-bought and uses ingredients you probably already have.
  • Its endlessly adaptable, so you can swap ingredients based on whats in your pantry or what your taste buds are craving.
02 -
  • Dress the salad right before serving or the greens will wilt and lose their crunch, I learned this the hard way after prepping one too early for a dinner party.
  • If youre making the vinaigrette ahead, store it in a jar and shake it vigorously before using because the oil will separate as it sits.
  • Slice the apples just before assembling to prevent them from browning, or toss them lightly in a little lemon juice if you need to prep in advance.
03 -
  • Use a jar with a tight lid to make the vinaigrette, you can shake it instead of whisking and it emulsifies perfectly every time.
  • Add the cheese and nuts last after tossing with the dressing so they stay on top and dont get lost in the greens.
  • If you like a sweeter salad, add an extra teaspoon of honey to the vinaigrette or toss in more dried cranberries.
